Navalny death: Putin will be held accountable, Kremlin critic's wife warns

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his associates will not go unpunished if the death of Alexei Navalny, as reported by Russian officials, turns out to be true, the Kremlin critic's wife, Yulia, said on Friday.

Yulia Navalnaya called upon the international community to come together and fight against the "horrific regime" in Russia, saying Vladimir Putin must be held "personally responsible."

"This regime and Vladimir Putin must be held personally responsible for all the terrible things that they have been doing to my country, to our country Russia, in recent years", Navalnaya said.

Navalny died on Friday after collapsing and losing consciousness at the penal colony north of the Arctic Circle where he was serving a long jail term, the Russian prison service said.
