Bulgarian troops performed drills with six NATO partners at a military training ground on Tuesday to improve their ability to work together in the event of an attack on one of their members.
The exercises included fending off an attack with artillery and evacuating wounded personnel by helicopter.
U.S. Admiral and Commander of the U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa Stuart Munsch told soldiers the exercises helped the allies to better understand the conditions and terrain in Bulgaria in case they had to defend it from attack.
As well as the Bulgarian military, personnel, and equipment from the U.S., Italy, Greece, Albania, North Macedonia and Montenegro took part in the drills.
