Scientists at Nasa’s Mission Control could barely contain their excitement as the Perseverance Rover sent back its first colour images of the red planet.
The rover's successful landing on the planet was the culmination of a seven-month journey through space, travelling almost 34 million miles.
Nasa now hopes the mission to search for signs of ancient life will change the entire way we see the universe.
