Renewed tensions have helped focus attention on the demilitarised zone (DMZ) that runs 250 kilometres across the Korean peninsula.
The DMZ acts as a buffer between North and South Korea, which are still technically at war.
It is also a big draw for visitors.
Al Jazeera's @Rob McBride took a military guided tour of the DMZ.
