Myanmar's military levels fresh allegations against ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi - as it continues its violent crackdown on protests against the coup. More people are killed, after security forces open fire.
The military junta has leveled fresh charges against deposed leader Aung San Suu Kyi, accusing her of accepting illegal payments worth 600,000 dollars, as well as gold, while in power. So far they've provided no evidence to back up the allegations. Meanwhile, at least six people were killed in Myanmar on Thursday, after security forces fired on them during demonstrations. They were in the town of Myaing taking part in protests against last month's military coup which overthrew Ms Suu Kyi's civilian government. There are also reports that at least one more person has been killed in Myanmar's largest city, Yangon. This latest violence comes after the UN Security Council demanded the military restore democratic control.
