When Kirsty Bryant became the first Australian to receive a womb transplant, she made medical history. So did the donor - Kirsty' very generous mum, Michelle, who when she was asked, gave up her own uterus without question … or complaint.

As Nine's Sylvia Jeffreys reported back in February the complicated operation was a great success. But of course, it wasn't the end of the story. There were no guarantees Kirsty's new womb would work in its new home.

Well now we know.
