Controversy has arisen at many places regarding the list of candidates announced by BJP last night. In Gwalior, supporters of both BJP and Jyotiraditya Scindia are opposing the ticket to former minister Maya Singh. Scindia supporters are angry over the cancellation of Munnalal Goyal's ticket and are gheraoing Jaivilas Palace and protesting there. Scindia himself has reached among them and efforts to persuade are going on. Munnalal Goyal, former MLA from Gwalior East region in Bharatiya Janata Party, was a strong contender. Goyal had won on a Congress ticket in 2018, but when Jyotiraditya Scindia rebelled against the Kamal Nath government and brought down the government, Munnalal Goyal was also among the MLAs who resigned. In the by-election held in 2020, Goyal contested on a BJP ticket from the same area but Lost to Congress's Satish Sikarwar. However, despite this, he was made the Chairman of the State Seed and Farm Development Corporation and given the status of Cabinet Minister.

बीती रात भाजपा द्वारा घोषित की अपने प्रत्याशियों की सूची को लेकर अनेक जगह विवाद की स्थिति पैदा हो गई है. ग्वालियर में पूर्व मंत्री माया सिंह को टिकट देने का विरोध बीजेपी और ज्योतिरादित्य सिंधिया दोनों के समर्थक कर रहे हैं. सिंधिया समर्थक मुन्नालाल गोयल का टिकट कटने से नाराज हैं और जयविलास पैलेस का घेराव कर वहां जबरदस्त प्रदर्शन कर रहे हैं. सिंधिया खुद उनके बीच पहुंचे हुए हैं और मनाने की कोशिश जारी है.भारतीय जनता पार्टी में ग्वालियर पूर्व क्षेत्र से पूर्व विधायक मुन्नालाल गोयल प्रबल दावेदार थे. गोयल 2018 में कांग्रेस के टिकट पर जीते थे लेकिन कमलनाथ सरकार के खिलाफ जब ज्योतिरादित्य सिंधिया ने विद्रोह करते हुए सरकार गिराई तो इस्तीफा दिलाने वाले विधायकों में मुन्नालाल गोयल भी थे.2020 में हुए उप चुनाव में गोयल इसी इलाके से भाजपा के टिकट पर लड़े लेकिन कांग्रेस के सतीश सिकरवार से हार गए. हालांकि इसके बावजूद उन्हें राज्य बीज एवं फार्म विकास निगम का चेयरमैन बनाकर केबिनेट मंत्री का दर्जा भी दिया गया.
