Bypolls to 54 assembly constituencies in 10 states, including the crucial 28 seats in Madhya Pradesh, took place today. The bypolls in Madhya Pradesh were necessitated after 22 MLAs of the previous Congress government switched over to the BJP earlier this year, leading to the fall of Kamal Nath's government.
