A video of Beto O’Rourke, the former U.S. Representative for Texas and Democratic presidential hopeful, lashing out at a heckler who was laughing as the politician discussed the Uvalde school shooting on Wednesday has gone viral.

"It may be funny to you mother f--ker but it's not funny to me," snapped O'Rourke, the Democrat who is running for governor of Texas against Republican Greg Abbott in a November election.

On May 25, O'Rourke — a long time advocate for gun legislation — confronted Abbott, calling him a "sick son of a b--ch" after the mass shooting that killed 19 children and two teachers in Uvalde, Texas in May.

O'Rourke has said it was "insane" that an 18-year-old was legally permitted to acquire an AR-15.

The attack on May 24, which came 10 days after an avowed white supremacist shot 13 people at a supermarket in a mostly Black neighborhood of Buffalo, N.Y., reignited a national debate over U.S. gun laws.
