AstraZeneca has concluded its COVID-19 vaccine trials in the US and found it to be 79 percent effective. The UK drug maker is now looking to apply for emergency use authorization in the US while a number of other countries are halting its use amid fears of blood clot complications in some who have received the shot.
Meanwhile, several drug makers begin testing their product on children as young as six months old. But are there still things the CDC and other health officials aren’t making clear to those getting the vaccine? Dr. Muhammad Munir, a virologist with expertise in virus pathobiology, shares his perspective.
