Tamil Nadu has managed to minimize the damage to life, property and infrastructure, after the state was hit by cyclone Nivar. The very severe cyclone made its landfall near Puducherry early Thursday morning. The state had evacuated around 2 lakh people from low-lying areas to save lives. It had also suspended bus services in vulnerable districts from the day before landfall.
