After a “mind-blowing” experience on a WestJet flight that left her being questioned by B.C. police, Brittney Draper is speaking out about the airline, who she believes profiled her over her tattoos.

Draper was travelling from Vancouver to Terrace, B.C. on July 7 because her six-year-old son, Israel James, had undergone reconstructive eye surgery in B.C. Children’s Hospital.

Despite notifying the cabin crew that James had undergone reconstructive surgery, WestJet employees notified authorities and airport management out of concern for the child’s safety.

“If they had concerns, they should’ve brought it to my attention, and I would’ve provided them the documentation they needed,” Draper said.

As Global's Kylie Stanton reports, Draper said the police eventually let her go, but believes she was profiled because of her abundance of tattoos.
