Officials of Oakland County, Mich. gave an update on Wednesday regarding the Oxford High School shooting that occurred Tuesday, leaving at least four people dead and seven injured.

Authorities confirmed Wednesday that a 17-year-old boy was the latest to die after a sophomore opened fire at the high school a day earlier.

Michigan's Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard provided an update on the condition of seven injured people from the deadly school shooting. He said of the six students and one teacher injured, four remain in hospital, while three others were discharged. This comes as a fourth student died from wounds suffered in the shooting carried out by a sophomore student on Tuesday.

The sheriff also addressed a video circulating online depicting someone knocking on the door of a classroom at Oxford High School during the shooting incident. He said misinformation is spreading that the person knocking on the door was the suspected shooter, which is incorrect.

Investigators said they were still trying to determine a motive, saying the person with the "most insight and the motive is not talking."

Deputies rushed to the school around lunch time as more than 100 calls flooded 911 dispatchers with reports of a shooter. They arrested the student in a hallway within minutes of their arrival. The suspected shooter put his hands in the air as deputies approached, authorities said.
