Soccer star Lionel Messi joined PSG's training session for the first time on Friday, doing runs and dribbles on the pitch with fellow strikers Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.

However, he is unlikely to play any part in Saturday's Ligue 1 game against Strasbourg, head coach and Paris Saint Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino said in a Friday press conference.

"We will take it step by step, getting to know each other and the priority is for him to be fit, feel comfortable, so that he is in the best condition to make his debut." Pochettino said of 34-year-old Messi.

Messi, who won 10 La Liga and four Champions League titles during a 17-year long stint at Barcelona, led Argentina to the Copa America title with a 1-0 win over hosts and traditional rivals Brazil in July 11 final.
