Residents of Irishtown, New Brunswick, have embarked on a mission to unravel a mystery after discovering a message in a bottle dating back to 1980s.

The note, found by locals near a nearby river, bears a logo from Tower Gift World, a gift shop with locations in the Canadian province at the time.

After sharing the discovery online, the post has been widely circulated, with people from the area hoping to identify the senders.
