Medical experts call for race-based health data amid ongoing discrimination against patients

Experts from the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) say they know racial discrimination exists in the medical field and want to find a way to hold not just individuals, but the system overall, accountable.

Dr. Andrew Pinto, the lead author on this new report, says people who are Black or Indigenous can face many issues when seeking treatment, including delays and denied services.

Dr. Pinto and his group of researchers are making calls to get race-based health data based on this, to help identify trends and ultimately make a case against this injustice.
