One of Canada's most notorious criminals, former Hells Angels boss Maurice "Mom" Boucher, died over the weekend.

Quebec's biker war raged for eight years, with more than 160 people killed and it made the man at the centre of it, Boucher, infamous. He led the Nomads, an elite chapter of the Hells Angels and got the nickname "Mom" because he was apparently like an overbearing mother.

The man had been incarcerated in a palliative care ward at a correctional health-care institution while he battled throat cancer, where he had been serving consecutive life sentences for the past 20 years. Mike Armstrong reports.
