Major cities across Pakistan, including Islamabad and Lahore, are without power following a breakdown in the country’s national electricity grid.
Power minister Khurrum Dastagir said electricity would be back on soon, insisting it was "not a major crisis".
Services have resumed in some parts of the country, and back-up generators have been used to power hospitals, businesses and private homes.
