DEVELOPING: Dark smoke and flames rise high into the sky at the site of a massive reported chemical fire in San Jacinto County, Texas.

Evacuations are in progress in the town of Shepherd, according to the San Jacinto County Sheriff's Office.

Residents of Livingston are being asked to shelter in place and turn off air conditioning systems until further notice, according to Livingston police.
