Marcos says Philippines will not rejoin the ICJ

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr has promised a less bloody campaign against illegal narcotics, but he has rejected calls to rejoin the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The ICJ is investigating the so-called “war on drugs” under his predecessor, Rodrigo Duterte. Despite this, human rights activists hope that the exhumed remains of victims could provide more evidence to help push for justice.
