March 3, 2022: Ukraine defense lines, Russia will continue Ukraine war till 'the end,’ China, U.S. abortion ban, Trump

1. Russia's invasion of Ukraine entered its second week with its main assault force halted north of the capital Kyiv and several cities enduring heavy Russian bombing.

2. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said he believed some foreign leaders were preparing for war against Russia and that Moscow would press on with its military operation in Ukraine until "the end”.

3. The Chinese foreign ministry said that reports on Chinese and Russian coordination ahead of Russia's attack on Ukraine are "fake news."

4. Florida's Republican-led Senate is expected to pass a bill to ban abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy, putting the state one step closer to adopting a gestational limit currently under review by the U.S. Supreme Court.

5. The congressional committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol said former President Donald Trump may have engaged in criminal conduct in his bid to overturn his election defeat.
