For some residents who would normally bank on this time of year in order to see a boost to the economy with tourists coming to stay, resorts and businesses are instead empty due to concerns over wildfires and now those same British Columbians are on notice to evacuate as the flames get closer.
Emergency officials are racing to try and contain the multiple fires burning in the province, including the devastating one that left 90 per cent of the village of Lytton in ruin and at least two people dead.
