A search for potential unmarked graves is underway at a Catholic church near a former residential school in Manitoba, after a ground-penetrating radar found 14 anomalies beneath the church's dirt floor.

The National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation has a record of 21 child deaths at the Pine Creek school, which operated from 1890 to 1969.

Global's Melissa Ridgen reports from Minegoziibe Anishinabe First Nation, about 400 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg, where the excavation is taking place.
