The sentencing hearing for Payton Gendron, the white supremacist who killed 10 Black people in a Buffalo supermarket, was disrupted briefly on Wednesday when a man in the audience charged towards Gendron during an emotional victim impact statement.
Gendron, 19, was later sentenced to life in prison after listening to relatives of his victims express the pain and rage caused by his racist attack.
"You don't know a damn thing about Black people," Barbara Massey, the sister of one of the victims, said during her statement. "We're human...We'd never go to neighbourhoods and take people out..."
