Man charged with murder in BC RCMP's officer fatal stabbing

A man named Jongwon Ham has now been charged with the first-degree murder of RCMP Const. Shaelyn Yang in Burnaby, B.C.

Ham made his first appearance in court on Wednesday and was remanded in custody to Nov. 2. No other details were released.

However, Global News has learned Ham has a history of being arrested and charged with assault. Global's Grace Ke reports on what's known about the confrontation that led to Yang's death, as tributes pour in for the 31 year old.
