Back in the 70s, in the days of the Brady Bunch on TV, they were a novelty. A laugh a minute. These days, they're much more common. One in five Australian children now lives in a step-family. And the laughs can be few and far between. It's no picnic. In fact, while many do manage to make a go of it, the majority fail.
