The festival of Makar Sakranti is being celebrated on 14 January. Makar Sankranti of this year is special and auspicious in many ways.  This time Kumbh is being organized in Haridwar. The first special bath of Kumbh will be held on Makar Sankranti.  In Hinduism, this festival of Makar Sankranti is considered very auspicious. When the Sun, the king of the planets, enters Capricorn from Sagittarius, this phenomenon is called Makar Sankranti.
