TMC MP Mahua Moitra's troubles are showing no signs of ending. Today (20 October 2023), during the hearing of the defamation case against BJP leader Nishikant Dubey in Delhi High Court, his lawyer left Mahua.BJP MP Nishikant Dubey had accused Mahua of taking money and asking questions in Parliament. In response to these allegations, Mahua had filed a defamation case against Dubey. During the hearing of this case on Friday (20 October 2023), the lawyer representing Mahua recused himself from the case. Mahua's lawyer refused to defend the case any further citing conflict of interest in this case. Actually, Mahua Moitra's friend and Supreme Court lawyer Jai Anant Dehdrai has been a personal friend of Mahua. He told the court that Mahua's lawyer Gopal Shankaranarayan called Dehdrai and asked him to withdraw the case, call recording of which is available with him. In such a situation, the judge said, if this is so then how can Shankaranarayan plead this case. After this Gopal Shankaranarayan distanced himself from this matter.

टीएमसी सांसद महुआ मोइत्रा की मुश्किलें कम होने का नाम नहीं ले रही हैं. आज (20 अक्टूबर 2023) दिल्ली हाईकोर्ट में बीजेपी नेता निशिकांत दुबे के खिलाफ मानहानि के मामले की सुनवाई के दौरान उनके वकील ने महुआ का साथ छोड़ दिया.बीजेपी सांसद निशिकांत दुबे ने महुआ के खिलाफ पैसे लेकर संसद में सवाल पूछने का आरोप लगाया था. महुआ ने इन आरोपों के जवाब में दुबे के खिलाफ मानहानि का केस कर दिया था. शुक्रवार (20 अक्टूबर 2023) को इस मामले की सुनवाई के दौरान महुआ की पैरवी कर रहे वकील ने खुद को इस केस से अलग कर लिया. महुआ के वकील ने इम मामले में हितों के टकराव की बात कहते हुए इस केस की आगे कोई भी पैरवी करने से इंकार कर दिया. दरअसल महुआ मोइत्रा के मित्र और सुप्रीम कोर्ट के वकील जय अनंत देहद्राई महुआ के निजी मित्र रह चुके हैं. उन्होंने कोर्ट को बताया कि महुआ के वकील गोपाल शंकरनारायण ने देहद्राई को कॉल करके मामला वापस लेने को कहा, जिसकी कॉल रिकॉर्डिंग उनके पास मौजूद है. ऐसे में जज ने कहा, अगर ऐसा है तो शंकरनारायण इस मामले की पैरवी कैसे कर सकते हैं. इसके बाद गोपाल शंकरनारायण ने अपने आप को इस मामले से अलग कर लिया
