French President Emmanuel Macron and presidential hopeful Marine Le Pen appealed to voters on Sunday as it became clear they were headed to a runoff election, to be held on April 24.

Macron urged the French to block his far-right challenger Le Pen from power, telling supporters that “nothing is decided” yet. He said he would work to convince all voters, including those who abstained or voted for candidates on the far-right or far-left, to vote for him.

“I want to convince them in the coming days that our project is a much stronger response compared to the far-right’s – to their scares and the challenges of our time. You can count on me,” he said.

Le Pen, meanwhile, promised to be a “president for all” and to “bring back order” to France.
