The tenure of the current Lok Sabha is ending on June 16. In such a situation, a new Lok Sabha has to be formed before that. It is believed that like last time, this time also Lok Sabha elections can be conducted in seven phases. Before announcing the dates, the Election Commission had sent officials to visit every state and union territory, so that they could take stock of the conditions under which the elections would be conducted. About 97 crore people are going to vote in the Lok Sabha elections at more than 12 lakh polling stations. Elections for 543 parliamentary seats will be held in the month of April-May. वर्तमान लोकसभा का कार्यकाल 16 जून को खत्म हो रहा है. ऐसे में उससे पहले नई लोकसभा का गठन किया जाना है. माना जा रहा है कि पिछली बार की तरह ही इस बार भी सात चरणों में लोकसभा चुनाव करवाए जा सकते हैं. चुनाव आयोग ने तारीखों का ऐलान करने से पहले अधिकारियों को हर राज्य और केंद्रशासित प्रदेश के दौरे पर भेजा था, ताकि वे चुनाव करवाए जाने वाले हालातों का जायजा ले सकें. लोकसभा चुनाव में 12 लाख से अधिक मतदान केंद्रों पर करीब 97 करोड़ लोग मतदान करने वाले हैं. 543 संसदीय सीटों के लिए चुनाव अप्रैल-मई के महीने में करवाए जाएंगे. इस बार संसदीय चुनाव को विपक्षी गठबंधन ‘इंडिया’ (इंडियन नेशनल डेवलेपमेंटल इन्क्लूसिव एलायंस) और बीजेपी के नेतृत्व वाले एनडीए के बीच मुकाबले के तौर पर देखा जा रहा है. इंडिया गठबंधन के लिए लोकसभा चुनाव करो या मरो वाली स्थिति है
