The U.S. Senate votes on whether to keep the government funded to prevent a shutdown, after the House passed a measure to keep the government funded on Wednesday. The U.S. Congress has until midnight tonight to provide additional funding for federal agencies or the nation will face its second shutdown of the federal government in three years. The federal government will begin its second shutdown in three years on Friday at 0001 EDT (0401GMT) if Congress does not act to provide additional funding for federal agencies.
