New York Governor Kathy Hochul holds a public briefing on air quality as a smoky yellow haze generated by hundreds of Canadian wildfires continues to hover over a large swath of the United States. The U.S. National Weather Service issued air quality alerts for virtually the entire Atlantic seaboard.
