People have been displaced by cross-border fire between Hezbollah and Israeli forces.
In the Lebanese town of Tyre, a school has been turned into a shelter for some of the displaced people. Life is difficult and people have been complaining to us about the lack of basic necessities.
The skirmishes have displaced thousands. Approximately 100km (62 miles) of the Lebanon-Israel border is now a military zone. People who used to live in that area or near it have made their way deeper into Lebanon to escape being caught up in the skirmishes.
Officials have been telling Al Jazeera they are struggling to cope with the influx. They just do not have the budget to deal with this crisis. The Lebanese government is nearly bankrupt.

Al Jazeera’s Zeina Khodr joins us live from southern Lebanon for the latest updates.
