The United States is facing criticism over a decision not to target Saudi crown prince Mohammad bin Salman with sanctions. Last week the US released an intelligence report showing that the prince had approved the murder of Saudi dissident and journalist Jamal Khasoggi. Even though the prince is not on the sanctions list, the White House is insisting that the relationship with Saudi Arabia is being recalibrated.
