Kolkata Book Fair: The UK is the theme country at the 47th International Kolkata Book Fair (IKBF) which was inaugurated by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday. This marks the 75th anniversary of the British Council's presence in India with a great showcase of the UK's work in literature, arts, science, and English language learning in India's largest book fair and one of the most popular book fairs in the world.

NDTV spoke to British High Commissioner to India Alex Ellis and Alison Barrett, Director of India British Council on what's in store, including the release of a study on the future of the English language.
