Conflict and humanitarian studies expert Sultan Barakat, Professor at Qatar Foundation’s Hamad Bin Khalifa University, told Al Jazeera that the targeted assassination of Haniyeh’s family members might aim to disrupt ceasefire negotiations. He suggested the Israeli military may have deliberately targeted them.
