Kate Middleton receives outpouring of support following cancer diagnosis

The public in the U.K. is rallying behind Kate Middleton after she revealed on Friday that she is being treated for cancer.

Middleton said Friday that cancer had been detected during her abdominal surgery earlier this year and that she was undergoing “preventative chemotherapy.”

That revelation generated a flood of sympathetic reactions in the British tabloid press and contrition from others – including some high-profile celebrities – who had peddled all sorts of conspiracy theories about her whereabouts.
