केंद्र सरकार ने संसद का विशेष सत्र बुलाया है. यह सत्र 18 से 22 सितंबर तक चलेगा. बताया जा रहा है कि इस सत्र में पांच बैठकें होंगी. सूत्रों के मुताबिक, संसद के इस विशेष सत्र में मोदी सरकार 'एक देश-एक चुनाव' पर बिल लेकर आ सकती है. एक देश एक चुनाव का सीधा सा मतलब है कि देश में होने वाले सारे चुनाव एक साथ करा लिए जाएं. देश में 'वन नेशन-वन इलेक्शन' को लेकर बहस काफी समय से चल रही है. इसी साल जनवरी में लॉ कमीशन ने इसे लेकर राजनीतिक दलों से छह सवालों के जवाब मांगे थे.
