केंद्रीय चुनाव आयोग ने बुधवार (29 मार्च) को राज्य में चुनाव की तारीखों का एलान कर दिया है. मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त राजीव कुमार ने दिल्ली के विज्ञान भवन में प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस कर कहा, राज्य में 10 मई को वोटिंग होगी और 13 मई को चुनाव के नतीजे घोषित कर दिए जाएंगे. चुनाव आयुक्त ने कहा, 13 अप्रैल को राज्य में चुनावों की घोषणा के लिए नॉटिफिकेशन जारी कर दिए जाएंगे और 20 अप्रैल तक इस नॉटिफिकेशन के आधार पर उम्मीदवार अपना नामांकन दाखिल कर सकेंगे. 21 अप्रैल तक नामांकन पत्रों की जांच होगी और 24 अप्रैल को नामांकन वापस लेने की अंतिम तिथि है कर्नाटक चुनाव की तारीखों के एलान के साथ ही अपनी प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में चुनाव आयोग ने मतदाताओं की सुविधाओं के लिए कई अहम घोषणाएं की. जिनमें से प्रमुख यह, बुजुर्ग और शारीरिक रूप से अक्षम मतदाताओं को वोट डालने के लिए अब आयोग वोट फ्राम होम की सुविधा पहली बार शुरू करने जा रहा है. इसके तहत 80 से अधिक उम्र के मतदाता और दिव्यांग का वोट कलेक्ट करने के लिए आयोग की टीम उनके घर जाएगी. तो वहीं 1 अप्रैल से 18 साल के हो रहे वह मतदाता भी वोट डाल पाएंगे. इसके लिए भी चुनाव आयोग ने प्री-रजिस्ट्रेशन की सुविधा की है.

Nomination papers will be scrutinized till April 21 and April 24 is the last date for withdrawal of nominations. Along with the announcement of Karnataka election dates, in its press conference, the Election Commission made several important announcements for the convenience of voters. Chief among these, now the Commission is going to start the facility of vote from home for the first time for the elderly and physically challenged voters to vote. Under this, the commission team will go to the house of voters above 80 years of age and Divyang to collect their votes. So those voters who are turning 18 from April 1 will also be able to vote. For this also, the Election Commission has made the facility of pre-registration.
