अलग-अलग ओपिनियन पोल ने करीबी मुकाबले की भविष्यवाणी की है। कर्नाटक चुनाव में मौजूदा भारतीय जनता पार्टी (बीजेपी), सबसे बड़ी प्रतिद्वंद्वी कांग्रेस और जनता दल (सेक्युलर) के बीच त्रिकोणीय मुकाबला होने की उम्मीद है। 224 सीटों वाली कर्नाटक विधानसभा में साधारण बहुमत के लिए 113 सीटों की जरूरत है। 2018 के कर्नाटक विधानसभा चुनावों में, 104 सीटें भाजपा ने जीतीं, जबकि कांग्रेस ने 80, जेडी-एस ने 37 और तीन सीटें 'अन्य' के खाते में गईं।

Different opinion polls have forecast a close contest. The Karnataka polls are expected to be a three-way contest between the incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), biggest rival Congress and the Janata Dal (Secular). 113 seats are needed to form a simple majority in the 224-seat Karnataka Assembly. In the 2018 Karnataka Assembly Elections, 104 seats were won by the BJP while the Congress won 80, the JD-S 37, and three seats went to ‘Others’.
