A former Israeli prime minister has said it is "just a matter of time" before Benjamin Netanyahu's government is "toppled" after Israel dissolved its inner war cabinet.

It follows the resignation of opposition leader Benny Gantz from the cabinet, which was set up following Hamas' attacks on 7 October.

Speaking to Sky News, former Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert said there was a "general distrust" spreading "rapidly" against Benjamin Netanyahu.

He said: "Netanyahu's weakness will become more apparent and that will help bring him down."
