A federal judge overseeing the election conspiracy case against former U.S. president Donald Trump has warned his legal team that there are restrictions on what he can say publicly about the evidence in the case.

U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkin heard arguments Friday on how to structure a protective order that would prevent a public airing of all the evidence turned over by prosecutors.

But Chutkin also stressed that she would not be guided by political considerations.
