Shadow paymaster general, Jonathan Ashworth MP, says that Labour expected to be on the receiving end of "negative attacks and a dirty campaign" because the Conservatives are defending "14 years of national decline".

Mr Ashworth pushed back on claims that Labour did not have any "detailed plans" - saying that these included taxing non-doms and reforming planning rules and the NHS.
