President Cyril Ramaphosa has been visiting the site of a devastating fire in central Johannesburg which claimed the lives of more than 70 people, including at least 12 children.

Tonight, Channel 4 News has been told that criminal gangs had partitioned the building using locked gates, preventing people from fleeing - part of an illegal rental market in which people, many of them migrants, are forced to live in cramped, unsafe conditions.
