'Jeremy Hunt went further than all of us thought he would'

Speaking after the Chancellor's statement, Beth Rigby said it was a "complete reversal of the budget," saying Jeremy Hunt "went further than all of us thought he would."

She added that it was politically "very significant" that Mr Hunt only committed to the energy price cap until April next year.

The Chancellor will meet with the heads of all government departments to discuss "future spending plans."
