Former Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and his civilian crewmates returned to the Earth’s surface safely after rocketing into space on Tuesday aboard his Blue Origin spacecraft.
The near 11-minute trip from the company’s Launch Site One included Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, his brother Mark, 82-year-old trailblazing female aviator Wally Funk and 18-year-old Dutch teen Oliver Daemen.
The mission represented the world’s first unpiloted flight to space with an all-civilian crew, and taps into the potentially lucrative space tourism market.
