The family of Jayland Walker, a Black man whose body was found with some 60 gunshot wounds after he allegedly fled a traffic stop two weeks ago in Ohio, spoke to the media and to the public on Monday.

Bobby DiCello, a lawyer for the family of Jayland Walker, said they were calling for an end to violence, including by police at recent demonstrations demanding justice for Walker, but also added they still encouraged protests.

DiCello also called on officials to "stop the blame game," saying the presentation of the video showing the police killing of Walker was "an attempt to frame Jayland as someone he was not."

He also called on the city of Akron to "reach out" to the U.S. Department of Justice to look into the police killing of the Black man who was shot at least 60 times after fleeing a traffic stop.

Ohio Police released bodycam footage to the public last Sunday which showed eight police officers involved in the shooting that killed Walker.

The officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave, a statement from the department said.
