A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched from Cape Canaveral, Fla. on Sunday after two postponed attempts and is set to deliver Japan's ispace lander and a rover from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The SpaceX rocket will deliver the ipsace lander to the moon's orbit. The lander will deploy two robotic rovers, a two-wheeled, baseball-sized device from Japan's JAXA space agency and the four-wheeled Rashid explorer made by the UAE. The lunar rover will remain on the moon after data collection is completed. Amer Al Sayeh, director of the space engineering department, praised the launch and added there would be challenges and "many risks."

"But there is a will among (the team)," he said.

The rover is expected to land on the moon in April of 2023.
