According to Shiromani Akali Dal, two Sikh women in Jammu and Kashmir had been kidnapped and forced to convert to Islam. Both women, however, have denied the allegation that their conversion to Islam was forced. Manmeet, 19, had converted to Islam and married a Muslim man. She told the court she had converted and married of her free will. Another woman, Danmeet, 29, released a video and said she had converted two years ago.
