Debris from a Chinese rocket re-entered Earth’s atmosphere in a dazzling display that captivated stargazers on Feb. 25 in Queensland, Australia.

Professor Jonti Horner, an astronomer and astrobiologist at the University of Southern Queensland, told Storyful the debris that sparked the light show was an “upper stage from a Long March 3B rocket."

According to NASASpaceflight.com, the rocket was launched on Nov. 4, 2019, and carried a Chinese GPS satellite into orbit.

This footage, filmed from Roma according to the source, shows the debris falling towards Earth.
